My background

I teach high school English at a top independent school in Portland, Oregon, where I live with my spouse and two children. I’ve worked in the public and private education world for over 20 years.

I earned a BA with Honors and NCAA Academic All-American recognition as a four-year starter on the men’s soccer team at Vassar College. I also hold a MEd from Portland State University and a MFA in Writing from Columbia University. While at Columbia, I coached college application essay writing for a private college counselor.
